We are looking for enthusiastic and energetic individuals based in Athens for our Child Friendly Space at The Pomegranate Project. The project provides refugee and asylum-seeking women in Athens, who are at risk, and survivors of gender-based violence (GBV) with access to a holistic protection and empowerment model for recovery, resilience and re-integration.
These positions require criminal background checks and we reserve the right to request for references.
This position will require you to be based in Athens with a desired commitment of 15 hours per month, with a minimum commitment of 3 months.
Description:
You will be an integral part of supporting our Skills Acquisition and MHPSS pillars ensuring that children under 5 years old are suitably engaged while their mothers are able to focus and participate meaningfully in our services at our Day Centre.
Requirements:
Experience working with children from underprivileged backgrounds is preferred
Experience in providing recreational activities to children (drama, play, games, circus, sport, storytelling, drawing/painting, artistic activities, music, dancing)
Experience of community-based or community mobilisation work in a humanitarian context is a strong advantage
Excellent creativity skills
Excellent communication skills especially with children
High professional ethics
Advanced interpersonal and teamwork skills, working with different groups, partners, and nationalities
Flexible, enthusiastic, and willing to learn from others
Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships in a multi-ethnic, multicultural and multidisciplinary environment
Native Greek/English speaker with at least B2 or C1 verbal and written in the other. French/Arabic/Farsi are also highly desired
