WANTED: DANCE / MOVEMENT THERAPIST
Bring Healing and Joy through Movement!
Are you a dance or movement therapist who believes in the healing power of the body and movement?
Do you want to use your dance moves (or your therapist skills) to help refugee and asylum-seeking women reconnect with themselves and their bodies?
If so, we’d love to have you join us on Fridays!
We’re looking for volunteer dance and movement therapists to contribute to our Friday psychosocial support activities where women gather to dance, heal, and grow through creative activities in our safe space.
It’s where the magic happens (with or without jazz hands).
When and Where:
Fridays at the Pomegranate Project (whether you're in for regular sessions or specific collaborations, let’s work around your schedule!)
Sessions can be structured or open-ended, depending on the approach you take and the needs of the group. We’re all about flexibility, creativity, and a warm, non-judgmental space where everyone feels welcome.
✨ What You’ll Be Doing:
Design and facilitate trauma-informed, culturally sensitive movement sessions.
Help women reconnect with their bodies — think body awareness, emotional expression, and all that feel-good stuff.
Create a safe space for group cohesion, trust-building, and moments of empowerment.
Infuse joy, presence, and a lot of good energy into every session — no judgment, just flow.
What We’re Looking For:
A qualified dance or movement therapist who knows how to create a safe, inclusive space;
Someone who’s sensitive to intercultural dynamics and isn’t afraid to bring the fun, even when the topics are serious;
A natural ability to make people feel comfortable moving however they can!
A commitment to Community Fridays every week (or we can work out a schedule that works for you, no worries!). If you're coming from abroad, just a heads-up — you’ll need to be self-funded and able to stay for a minimum of two months. We promise, it’ll be worth it!
If you're ready to make a difference through the power of movement (and maybe some funky beats), we’d love to hear from you through our General Volunteer Form.
